How to Select a good Graphics Card?

Today, I am going to teach you how to select a graphics card. Many of us become confused while selecting a graphics cards. There are huge amount of graphics cards available in markets. In any budget there are many number of models people can buy. But sometimes people buy something which they don't want just because of lack of knowledge about graphics cards or in confusion.

Firstly, I want to tell you about  structure of graphics cards. Graphics cards consist of memory, gpu, bits, core clock, flops, bandwidth, pixel fill rate, shader clock and texture fill rate.

Now, You have to look at your budget. How much amount you can spend on buying a graphics card. Of course more and more amount will enable you to buy high end cards. Once you have select your budget then start searching. I will tell you about all three types of graphics card like low budget, medium budget and high budget. But in this article I will focus on low budget cards.

Starting with low budget cards.  If you go for nvidia you find there are many cards available in low budgets. For example in nvidia you can buy GT630, GT640, GTS 250, 9500 GT and much more. Mostly people just go for memory they think memory means high graphics but it doesn't like that. You must pay attention to other things like memory clock, gpu, bits, shader model and open GL.

I am giving an example by comparing two cards one is GT 630 and other is 9800 GT . GT 630 comes in many memory like 1 GB, 2 GB and 4 GB while 9800 GT comes in 256 MB, 512 MB and 1GB. If you go for GT 630 4 GB 128 bits it will cost you about $65 or $70 but actual thing is its performance. Both cards are pci express graphics card. GT 630 4 GB card is still low end card because of other things like gpu, bits, bandwidth, texture fill rate and pixel fill rate which is quite low compare to 9800 GT 1GB. Cost of 9800 GT 1 GB 256 bits is about $80 to $90 which is not much compare to GT 630. 9800 GT will allow you better graphics as compare to GT 630 4GB. So, If you just go for memory you will surely lost your desired result when you starting to play games.

If you want to buy best graphics cards in low budget. So, You have to search and compare all things instead of memory. Bits also tells you about performance of graphics card. If you buy 1 GB card with 256 bits and you have another option for example you can also buy 2 GB 128 bit card in same amount then go for 1 GB 256 bits card. It will provide you better performance for sure. In this session I have only discussed nvidia company but in next session I will tell you about medium end graphics cards of nvidia and ati radeon.
